Electronic Medical Records have become common-place in hospitals and doctors offices. Why should Emergency Medical Services be any different.
To ensure the security and confidentiality of the patients we care for, Stowe Rescue has invested in a new electronic patient care reporting system that meets standards mandated by the Federal Government for confidential patient information. In addition, ruggedized laptops have been purchased for both of our ambulances and our Paramedic first response vehicle to allow for quick and accurate documentation of each patient contact.
The new system also allows us to analyze and trend the information gathered. This enables us to see what parts of our service to the community work well, as well as what area can use improvement. This information will help us continually refine and improve the service we provide.
The new system went on-line July 1st.
